ETHIOPIA BUKU ABEL LOPITA

The new Ethiopian harvest invites the best of coffee flavor that ever can exist. Discovering coffee in this origin is such pure pleasure, and we could no longer hide our joy releasing this new coffee from Hambela Wamena in Ethiopia. Introducing Ethiopia Pantera Buku Abel with a natural process that comes with deep violet taste and complex berries.

Hambela is one of the regions in Ethiopia known for producing complex berry flavors. Blessed with a high-altitude coffee-growing region, Hambela microclimates allow slow cherry maturation that amplify the cherry sweetness. Buku Abel washing station is one of the small villages in Hambela where most of the nearby smallholder farmers send their cherries during harvest season.

The stations focus on high-quality processing. Natural coffee is sun-dried for 12–18 days, while washed coffee dries for 8–10 days. After processing, coffee is stored separately until buyer approval. Water is used only once to wash washed coffee. Buno General Trading ensures quality control by storing coffee in dark ceramic canisters to maintain freshness and prevent contamination. Traceability is robust, with detailed records from farm to export.

Buku Able is one of the most the most effortlessly charming Ethiopian coffees we ever worked on for this year. Packed with complex mixed-berry quality, we chose to release this coffee with 2 different roast profiles. On espresso roast, Buku Abel gives a deep blueberry flavor with creamy texture. The acidity gives the sensation of fresh grapefruit and blueberry fruitiness. With milk, it creates a sweet blueberry milkshake, jammy concord grape, and sweetness like a cream puff. It is a very versatile coffee that easily can be enjoyed by non-coffee drinkers too.
