Preseverence of Legacy
Beyond borders and across the ocean, Arkib continues its pursuit of coffees that move in step with our journey. Through direct trade, we value clarity, transparency and relationships built with purpose. Panama is often seen as the pinnacle of specialty coffee, but we look beyond reputation, searching for new voices that reflect ethical sourcing and shared intent. That path led us to Chevas Coffee Estate, a producer shaped by farming heritage and driven by young energy.

Founded in 2016 by José Luis, Chevas carries forward a family legacy through specialty coffee and careful experimentation. The estate grows Typica, Geisha and Catuai, each shaped by Panama’s landscape and refined through thoughtful fermentation. This season’s selection reflects our shared belief in craft, traceability and progress built slowly, one harvest at a time.

Chevas Geisha Natural
From Chevas’ Traditional Collection, this Geisha reflects a poised expression of Panama. A natural process draws out clarity and layered complexity, allowing the character to unfold with restraint. Cherries are handpicked at peak ripeness, then pulped, sorted and dried on raised beds under greenhouse light, where time shapes the cup. It opens with dark berries and grape, lifted by a gentle jasmine aroma. A composed lot that reflects Chevas’ quiet precision in craft.

No story of Panama coffee is complete without Geisha, a varietal that has found its true voice in this landscape, shaped by elevation, climate and soil into one of Arabica’s most expressive forms; under Jose’s care it moves seamlessly between tradition and exploration, from classic natural processing that carries the imprint of terroir to more experimental fermentations that deepen its layers, each lot revealing clarity and nuance while remaining grounded in origin, ultimately defining Panama’s place on the global stage through precision, restraint and intent.

A quiet floral of honeysuckle threads through poached pear and mata kucing, before resting in cherry and purple grape.
