You’ll play an important role in bringing our baked goods to life, from preparation and production to presentation and service.

You will

• Prepare and produce a range of bakery items according to Arkib’s recipes, standards, and production schedules
• Accurately measure, weigh, mix, shape, proof, bake, finish, and present bakery products with care and consistency
• Maintain high standards of quality, ensuring every product meets Arkib’s expectations for taste, texture, appearance, and freshness
• Prepare ingredients and production stations efficiently, keeping everything organised and ready for service
• Follow recipes and production methods closely while maintaining consistency across every batch
• Monitor baking times, temperatures, proofing, and product quality throughout the production process
• Assemble, pack, label, store, and organise bakery products correctly to maintain freshness and presentation
• Keep the bakery, equipment, tools, and workstations clean, organised, and hygienic throughout the day
• Support daily stock management, including receiving, storing, rotating, and checking ingredients and supplies
• Minimise food waste and use ingredients thoughtfully in line with Arkib’s sustainability practices
• Assist with opening and closing duties, including cleaning and preparing the bakery for the next production cycle
• Participate in regular equipment cleaning and maintenance and report any issues promptly
• Work closely with the wider café and bakery team to ensure smooth daily operations and timely product availability
• Follow and support all Food Safety, Quality, Hygiene, and Good Manufacturing Practices rules and regulations

You have

• A genuine love and respect for delicious food, baking, coffee, and exceptional guest experiences
• Previous experience in a bakery, pastry kitchen, café, restaurant, or food production environment is preferred
• Basic knowledge of baking techniques, food preparation, and kitchen hygiene
• The ability to follow recipes, production instructions, and food safety procedures accurately
• Good organisation and time-management skills
• The ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining quality
• The ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with a team
• The ability to read and speak English proficiently

You have:

• The ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time, including throughout an 8-hour shift
• The use of hands to handle, prepare, shape, decorate, and package food products
• The ability to reach with hands and arms
• The ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, squat, bend, twist, and reach for items below waist level or above shoulders
• The ability to lift, push, pull, carry, and move ingredients, equipment, trays, and supplies as required
• The ability to work in a warm environment around ovens and other bakery equipment
• The ability to climb ladders, stairs, ramps, and navigate uneven floors or surfaces as needed
• The ability to listen and communicate effectively with teammates
• Close visual acuity to perform repetitive visual checking, identify small defects, assess product quality, read labels, and determine accuracy of measurements and quantities
